Road to One is a pre-engagement journey designed to help couples slow down, build a strong foundation, and truly know one another before saying “yes.”
In a small group setting, couples grow in connection with each other and with God—because lasting marriages aren’t just built on compatibility, but on a shared foundation in Him.
Every conversation and question is centered on encountering the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the true authors of marriage.
My journey didn’t just shape me personally—it was formed over decades in ministry, serving on staff at nine different churches, in several different denominations and non-denominational atmospheres.
I’ve walked with pastors, leaders, teams, couples, and individuals in every kind of season. And through it all, I’ve learned this: real transformation doesn’t come from striving harder—it comes from healing, abiding, clarity, and alignment with God.
This is where I share the journey.
From my cancer diagnosis to where I am today, these writings reflect the process of being stripped down, rebuilt, and anchored in what is real.
It’s not a polished story—it’s an honest one.
Along the way, I’ve learned that God meets us in the hardest places, and it’s often there that He forms something deeper, stronger, and more true than we could have imagined.

Dawn is currently the Equip & Care Pastor at UPPERROOM Dallas. Tim, a former US Navy pilot is now a captain and instructor for a major US airline.
Through decades of ministry, leadership, and personal seasons that required deep trust in God, their foundation has been formed in Him.
Out of that place, they help others grow strong, live anchored, and walk in the fullness of who God created them to be.
